Backyard Gardeners - NEW!

Do you grow more food in your backyard gardens than you can possibly use? If so, share your left-over fruits and vegetables with a neighbor in need! With our new refrigeration units, Families Forward now welcomes fresh produce from local gardens. For more information, please call (949) 552-2727.

Educational Outreach - NEW!
Help enrich our food pantry program!  We are looking for 5-10 volunteers to play a key role in developing a coupon distribution program for our food pantry.  Volunteers will help create resource materials (recipes, smart shopping tips, agency referral lists, etc) to distribute to families in need.  Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.

Food Pantry - Weekly Food Preparations
Help us prepare food bags for weekly distribution! Volunteers have a great time stocking shelves, taking inventory, sorting food, preparing bread donations, and helping make the pantry a resource for those in need. This is important work done in a caring, casual and fun environment. Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.

Available times: Mon-Fri, 9-12pm

Front Desk Volunteer - Help change lives!
A critical position! Volunteers serve as the first point of contact for families and individuals looking for assistance, by staffing the phones and our front desk.  Good communication skills, a strong desire to help others, and excellent judgment are required.

Bilingual Office Volunteers are especially needed to help translate for clients (most needed languages: Spanish and Farsi). Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.

This position requires 10 hours of training and a minimum six month commitment. Volunteers work two to three hour shifts once a week.

Childcare Workers
Volunteers work directly with children in the Transitional Housing Program during the weekly Children's Group. An interview with program staff is required before entering this volunteer opportunity. Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.

A minimum 12 week commitment is required of the volunteers as our children develop attachments to the childcare workers. Sessions are from 6:30-7:45 every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of the month.

Furniture Donations / Warehouse Workers
Volunteers are needed at various times to help staff pick up furniture donations, deliver home items to our transitional homes and organize warehouse items. This involves physical work, flexible hours and some weekends. Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.

Home Furnishing / Repair

Are you handy around the home? We are always looking for people to help us with minor tasks as we inspect each home prior to a new family moving in. Tasks include helping us get a home ready and general "handyman" repairs. Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form if you are interested in this opportunity.
