Thanksgiving Basket Program

Several opportunities to participate:

Thanksgiving food drives
Plan and schedule a food drive for our Thanksgiving Basket Program. Delivery and pick-up of food barrels are available with larger food drives. Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information.

Thanksgiving food bag preparations
Help prepare food bags for our big distribution day! Volunteers are needed in November 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm. Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information.

Thanksgiving Distribution
Help distribute food baskets to families. This is a popular event, so call early to sign up! Distribution is the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information. Volunteer sign-ups start the first week of October and will remain open until all spots are filled.

Week After Thanksgiving
Help us get reorganized after such an eventful weekend! Volunteers will help reorganize our food pantry and continue to make Thanksgiving food bags for families who didn't have the opportunity to come for the distribution. Mon-Thurs from 10am-12 and 2pm-4.

Adopt A Family Holiday Program

Several opportunities to participate:

Be a donor
Adopt A Family for the Holidays. Donor families sign up in October and gifts are due at Families Forward during the first week in December. Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information.

Prepare Gift Bags
Be a Holiday Angel! Help prepare the holiday gift bags for pickup by families. Beginning early December there will be morning and afternoon shifts. Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information. Volunteer sign-ups begin during the first week of November.

Distribute Gift Bags to Families
Be a Santa's Elf and help distribute gift bags to families when they arrive to pick up their family's gifts. This is a very rewarding experience! Please contact holidays@families-forward.org for more information. Volunteer sign-ups start during the first week of November. Shifts are 9:30am-12pm, 3pm-5, and 5pm-7 (evening hours vary.)

Receiving Santas
Volunteers receive incoming gift bags for families from donors. Volunteers must be able to do some lifting. Sign-ups start the first week of November. Shifts may vary during the day. Some Saturday and evening shifts are available.
